During the Vietnam War, many US Air Force pilots—angered by the dearth of competent training and equipment—clamored for a new fighter aircraft that would demonstrate air superiority and dominance. Thus, the F-15 Eagle was born. Fast and maneuverable, the Eagle was capable of close-in dogfight capability. The model paved the way into the development of the more powerful F-15E Strike Eagle. Outfitted with new internal weapons storage, twin vertical tails, and fifth generation electronic weapons countermeasure, the Strike Eagle was a product of expert engineering and high-tech computer technology. Although the Strike Eagle was not created as a replacement for the original F-15E, the USAF found the former to be one of the most outstanding aircraft ever made. Able to tear its way out of hairy situations, the more advanced Strike Eagle has the ability to pierce defenses and destroy high-value enemy targets, as evident during the Operation Desert Storm. In addition, the F-15E has engaged in military operations in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iraq, Kuwait, and Libya. This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff!.
